Tooth extraction is the number one reason for hospital admissions for 5-9 year olds. We look at why this is and how to avoid the problem becoming worse.
In my career I see more and more often patients presenting with little holes on the chewing side of their back teeth. This is a clear sign of acid erosion.
Erosion is the loss of tooth enamel by acid attack. The enamel is the hard outer layer of the tooth, the inner layer, which makes the bulk of the tooth, is softer and is called dentine.
Brushing your teeth is essential for good oral health.
When I ask patients about their brushing routines most of them tell me that they brush twice a day. That’s great!
However it’s also important to know how to brush your teeth in order to remove all of the plaque.
